Design That Heals

Welcome to Biophilic Projects, an initiative that provides advice on implementing biophilic design patterns through educational seminars and workshops.

Biophilic Design is a design ethic, still in its relative infancy, which aims to restore natural stimuli to the built environment and enhance the cognitive psycho-physiological well-being of urban inhabitants.

About Biophilic Projects

Biophilic Projects is a part time initiative run by me, Joseph Oliver Clancy CMLI, a landscape architect, biophilic design consultant, architectural journalist and public speaker.

The purpose of Biophilic Projects is to provide advice and education on the subject of biophilic design, while increasing awareness among built environment professionals, policy makers and the general public.

I speak regularly on the subject of biophilic design and have co-authored several case studies and reports, including Terrapin Bright Green’s 14 Patterns of Biophilic Design, with other works on the subject appearing in MIT’s International Journal of Architectural Research, Landscape Architecture Frontiers & the Landscape Institute’s Journal ‘Landscape’.

Previous organisations I have supplied services to include: Living Building Challenge UK Collaborative; Green Plants for Green Buildings and W2W.
